EXPERT Natural Defense™ is a proprietary blend of plant-based essential oils designed for use in exterior wood stains, paints, and outdoor maintenance applications.

How long does this last? Will this repellent last for a year or more?
Yes, this will last over a year. For the best results, we do recommend a reapplication every six months or so - once at the beginning of spring and once in mid-late fall.

Would it be better to spray treat the wood first then stain or mix this into the stain? Does this product mix well with the stain or does it need to be stirred constantly?
Natural Defense works best when one 8oz bottle is mixed well in one five gallon pail of stain. We recommend pouring it in, mixing well, then staining as planned.

Can the Citronella Oil Expert additive also be used with Latex stain? Thank you.
Yes, the Citronella additive can be used with Latex stains.

Will this effect the color of the stain?
No, the Natural Defense will not affect the color of the stain.

Will this work with oil based paints?
Yes! The repellent is an oil based product.

Hello , does the citronella could be added to a water based solid stain ?
You will have to shake/mix pretty consistently. Likely every few minutes at least. It is an oil based product, and obviously oil and water don't mix.
