EXPERT Transparent Clear Stain & Seal can be applied to Western Red Cedar, Treated Pine, and various other wood species. This stain is designed to showcase the natural beauty of wood by allowing it to gray gracefully over time, as it provides no UV protection. However, it does aid in the prevention of warping, cracking, and twisting.
EXPERT Stain & Seal is enriched with non-drying oils and conditioners that deeply penetrate the wood, protecting it from the inside out. The unique stain and seal barrier locks in moisture protection, ensuring your wood remains safeguarded for years to come. Plus, with ultra-low VOC levels, EXPERT Stain & Seal is safer for the environment, your family, and your outdoor space—no harmful off-gassing, unlike high-VOC stains, which can release carcinogens for months.
EXPERT Stain & Seal is easy to apply, non-filming, and guarantees a flawless finish with no streaks, runs, or lap marks. Trusted by thousands of homeowners and contractors alike, EXPERT Transparent Clear Stain & Seal is ideal for fences, pergolas, gazebos, siding, and vertical wood surfaces. Whether it's new or aged wood, pressure-treated, or previously stained with an oil-based product, EXPERT is the clear choice for lasting protection and beauty.
Why Low VOC Matters:
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) contribute to air pollution, smog, and respiratory issues, with some posing carcinogenic risks. While many stains barely meet environmental standards, EXPERT goes further with ultra-low VOCs to ensure safer application and long-lasting protection—keeping both your wood and environment healthy.
EXPERT Stain & Seal is crafted by experts, for experts—and for homeowners who expect nothing less than exceptional performance.

Questions & Answers
Have a Question?
-
How long should I avoid staining if it might rain in the forecast
Our stains are rain safe on fences after about 12 hours. We recommend 24-36 hours of dry weather after staining for flat surfaces like decks.
-
What is the ideal application temperature
Since our stains are a penetrating oil, there are no temperature restrictions. We are dependent on moisture content of the wood. We recommend the wood having a 13% moisutre content and for the wood to NOT be frozen immediately before, during, or immediately after application.
-
Does this product clean up with soap and water?
It should if you prewet the surface with soap and water. Definitely do not let it dry. Expert Stain & Seal Degreaser works better.
-
Is better to get a sealer that has some color to it as opposed to a clear sealer?
It depends on the age of your fence. Newer fences should use a semi-transparent or transparent while older, rougher fences should use a semi-solid.
