After using this to stain a fence, this inside of this machine must be a mess.. How is it cleaned? I can't imagine cleaning this if using oil based stains and polyurethane If a second project requires a different color, also can't imagine reusing the rollers qne brushes. Are these disposable and cheap/easy to replace? How do you go from staining one day to applying poly a few days later. Then additional coat of poly. I feel a lot of time and/or money would be spent cleaning or replaceing rollers and brushes. Thanks
We recommend cleaning the machine with mineral spirits and the brushes and rollers with liquid dish soap, such as Dawn, after each use. Companies who frequently swap between products or colors usually keep a set of rollers and brushes for each product/color to swap out to reduce the time constraints of waiting for one set of brushes and rollers to get cleaned and completely dry before using again.
The brushes and rollers are affordable to replace and last for many uses when properly cared for.
The swapping and cleaning does take time, but it allows crews to work in all weather conditions. -
Can you use apply clear coat polyurethane with the machine?
Yes, you can use a clear polyurethane in the EXPERT Paint & Stain Machine.

I assume the machine coats all 6 sides, or do you have to run it through twice? I assume you could use it for interior trim as well?
Your assumption is correct - the machine does coat all six sides in one pass through the machine. You can use the machine for most any size board, as all of the brushes and rollers are manually adjustable.

1. Does this machine only work with expert stain and seal products.? 2. Can you use oil base products? 3. What is the curing time and temp. on the Expert Stain and Seal?
1. The EXPERT Staining Machine will work with paint and stain and does not have to be EXPERT Wood Care brand. We can't guarantee all products will work and many coatings may be harder to clean/remove from the machine due to higher viscosities.
2. It will work with both oil and water based products. Be sure to clean thoroughly after use.
3. The cure time is between 24 and 36 hours depending on how porous the surface is. -
Is there an adjustment for material thickness
Yes! The staining machine works with material up to 4” tall x 12” wide.

How do you clean it. And are the rolls your basic roll for replacement
You can fully dissemble the Staining Machine, wipe it clean with a rag, and clean components with dish soap and water. The replacement rolls are sold seperately in our "Samples, Repellents, and More" section.

We received our pre-staining machine and put it to work right away!! First, we love how compact it is. Just throw it on the back seat of the truck and go. Takes up the space of 1 man sitting in the truck. Second, easy set up. Just pop it up in a nice shady spot in the backyard, pour some stain in it, and go to work. Our first pre-stain job went a little slow at first but by the time we had the post all done, we were a staining machine (pun intended).
